PETALING JAYA – Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has called on voters in Pelangai to make a wise choice and vote for the candidate who can best represent their interests.
The Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman said in view of the present political scenario in the country, PN was the party to be depended on to ensure the well-being of voters in Pelangai.
“PN has proven its track record in safeguarding the interests of the people. It has already been 10 months since BN-PH have been in power and the problem over the shortage of eggs has escalated to rice now.
“It is even difficult for people to get a decent meal. This is different from the time PN was in power where everyone was assured of food on their table,” he said in a statement.
Muhyiddin also said there were now issues over restrictions on freedom of speech that were also becoming more common under the unity government.
“Even talking about Malay rights was an issue and even investigated by the police. Media that reported any criticism against the government were threatened and their websites blocked.
“Opposition MPs, who are now 100% Malay and Bumiputera, are often investigated by the police and face absurd prosecutions,” he claimed.
“The problems faced by the people are not resolved, but they (BN-PH) are too busy with their politicking,” he added.
The Election Commission has fixed October 7 as polling day for Pelangai while early voting would be on October 3.
