KOTA KINABALU - Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has refuted allegations that he had abused his power in a land deal in Kudat.

“The accusations are ill-intended, politically motivated and aimed at smearing my name. My office will give full cooperation to any investigations into the allegations,” he said in a statement here today.

Hajiji said this in response to allegations that he had used his authority as the chief minister to approve six land applications involving 2,993 acres of land in northern Sabah.

The allegations were initially posted by a Facebook user “Edisi Panas Sabah”.

The posting includes the alleged land application and other documents, involving a businessman from Sarawak who claimed to be close to Hajiji.

The Sulaman assemblyman noted that all the applications had gone through the relevant procedures at the Land Utilisation Committee meeting and were processed at the office.

“The application for the Yayasan Sabah land was referred to the Innoprise Corporation Sdn Bhd board of directors, and everything was done according to the law,” he said.

Hajiji said investigations will be done and appropriate action will be taken against the officer(s) who released confidential documents that had been used to make the allegations.

He said the authorities were also alerted about the Facebook account, which posted the allegations to tarnish his reputation.

“I will consult my lawyers to initiate legal action against these false allegations,” he said. - The Vibes, October 9, 2023
