PETALING JAYA - In a disguise which consisted of a pink tudung, women's shoes and henna painted toe nails, members of the public apprehended a local man in Masai, Johor for allegedly peeping on a woman in the ladies' restroom.

A video of the man being held and 'interrogated' by those who detained him has been making its rounds on social media.

Following this, the Seri Alam district police issued a statement clarifying that the individual had been arrested.

Investigation found that the incident took place at the Kipmart Mall in Masai at about 11am on Oct 22.

Police arrested the 23-year-old local man after he was detained by the public.

Checks found the man had no prior record.

The case is being investigated under Section 377D of the Penal Code and upon conviction, can be sentenced to a jail term of not more than two years.

In the viral clip, the man was seen pleading for mercy as he was embarrassed.

A woman could be heard scolding him while asking for the password to unlock his phone as she wanted to obtain evidence that he had been recording while spying on a woman in the toilet.

The suspect could be seen wearing a pair of wedges (women's sandals) and his toes were painted with henna.

He was even made to put on the pink tudung to demonstrate his disguise. - The Vibes, October 23, 2023
