China Masters: Tang Jie-Ee Wei clinch final berth

NATIONAL mixed doubles pair, Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei, continued their success at the China Masters Badminton Championship by defeating China’s world No 1 pair Feng Yan Zhe-Huang Dong Ping to reach the final.

In the semi-final action at the Shenzhen Arena, the world champions recorded a 22-24, 21-19, 21-17 victory over the home team of Feng Yan Zhe-Huang Dong Ping.

Tang Jie-Ee Wei led the first set 19-14 before the Chinese pair improved their game and tied the score at 19-19 before securing victory in the first set.

In the second half, the match looked more balanced as both pairs exchanged attacks and serves.

After successfully tying the score at 15-15, Tang Jie-Ee Wei began to make strides and finished the game 21-19 to drag the match to the deciding set.

Entering the third set, the match seemed quite balanced, but the national pair had the advantage when leading 11-7.

Tang Jie-Ee Wei's confidence grew when they led 16-11 before completing a 21-17 victory to advance to the final.
