THE Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) strongly condemned the actions of a few individuals who posted insulting and threatening comments or messages against national badminton players on social media recently.

In a statement, BAM stressed that there is no room for hatred, intimidation or discrimination in sports or society, while stressing that the safety and welfare of athletes is always the governing body's priority.

"BAM is aware of recent incidents involving the misuse of social media against national players.

"There is no place for hatred, intimidation or discrimination in badminton or in society. The safety and well-being of athletes is our priority," BAM said in the statement.

BAM also urged the public to express their views in a respectful and positive manner, as well as provide moral support to players representing the country on the international stage.

"We will continue to monitor this situation closely and provide support to players in need," he said. – October 28, 2025
