THE Regent of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim revealed that he received a message from world football star, Cristiano Ronaldo, who expressed his interest in playing at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium (SSI) if his club, Al-Nassr, went on a tour of Asia.

Tunku Mahkota Ismail, who is also the owner of the Johor Darul Ta'zim Football Club (JDT), described the matter as a high recognition of the official stadium of the Southern Tigers squad.

"JDT is very unique, to the point that I received a message from Cristiano Ronaldo, saying that if Al-Nassr is on a tour of Asia, and that if he plays in Malaysia, he doesn't want to play anywhere else, he wants to play in Johor only.

"That is a positive and high recognition when people praise the stadium you have. That is a good thing and I will bring many more, not only in football, but for other sports.

"Alhamdulillah, we also won the motorsports and congratulations to Hafizh Syahrin (Abdullah). Everyone said he was finished, I took him on when no one believed in him. I gave him my trust and support, today he is the champion.

"Johor has never had futsal (before), the first year was nothing, the second year was the champion. JDT, there has never been a JDT, the first year was a loser, the second year the champion. Alhamdulillah, what I have done has had results," he said in an interview session with JDT supporters, today.

Earlier, JDT Racing Team rider, Hafizh Syahrin completed a glorious day in the national motorsports arena when he confirmed the title of 'King of Asia' in the elite class of the ASB1000 Asian Motorcycle Championship (ARRC) 2025 in Buriram, Thailand, on Sunday. – December 10, 2025
