KUALA LUMPUR – A trainee at the Mokhtar Dahari National Football Academy (AMD) died after being swept off by currents while swimming in a river in his hometown of Kg Padang Temu, Batu 48 in Baling, Kedah.
The news was confirmed by Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu on his Twitter page.

“On behalf of the ministry, I extend my condolences to the family of the late Mohammad Saiful Ezzuddin, a trainee at the Mohktar Dahari Academy.
“I pray for the deceased to be placed among the faithful,” he said in his Twitter post.
It was reported that the victim’s body was found in a sand suction pipe at about 5.46pm this evening, around 9km away from the location he was reported missing.
The victim's discovery was reported by the caretaker of the pump.
Yesterday, 14-year-old Saiful was said to have been suddenly carried away by the river’s current before he could be saved.
He was reported to have been swimming in the river with his friends during that time but his friends failed to find him after he went missing.
Heavy rainfall caused the water level in the river to rise, making it difficult for the fire brigade to conduct a search for the victim. – The Vibes, March 24, 2022
