DATUK Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu has announced his resignation as Perikatan Nasional (PN) Perak chairman, effective Jan 1.

This follows Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's decision to step down earlier today as the coalition chairman.

"Taking note of Muhyiddin's decision to resign as Perikatan Nasional chairman and respecting that the appointment power rests with the chairman, I hereby announce my resignation as Perak PN chairman," he said in a statement.

Earlier, Muhyiddin confirmed that he resigned as PN Chairman effective January 1 next year.

Apart from Muhyiddin, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali also announced his resignation as PN Secretary-General and Chairman of the Selangor PN Liaison Body effective January 1, 2026.

Also resigning was Bukit Kepong State Assemblyman (ADUN), Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal as Johor PN Chairman, while stating that his decision was made following Muhyiddin's resignation. – December 30, 2025
