KUCHING – Sarawak are targeting 64 gold medals at the 2022 Malaysian Para Games (Para Sukma 2022) which will take place around the Klang Valley from November 1 to 6.
Sarawak Community Development and Wellbeing Deputy Minister Mohamad Razi Sitam said the target, if achieved, would allow Sarawak to become the overall champions of the Games.
“Our target is 64 gold medals this year,” he told reporters after attending the International White Cane Day 2022 event here today.
Razi, who is also the Sarawak contingent’s chef de mission to the Games, said the athletes who win medals will also receive rewards from the Sarawak government.
“A total of 168 Sarawak Para Sukma athletes will participate in the Games along with 84 officials, 35 secretariat staff and 25 medical personnel,” he said. – Bernama, October 15, 2022
