KUALA LUMPUR – Sabah scored two goals in each half to sink Sri Pahang FC 4-0 at the Likas Stadium in Kota Kinabalu.

Hosts Sabah needed just nine minutes to draw first blood through Darren Lok before Ramon Machado doubled their lead in the 43rd minute.

Darren then notched his second – and Sabah’s third – goal in the 64th minute before Stuart Wilkin completed the rout five minutes later.

Meanwhile, Selangor FC proved to be too strong for Penang FC as they strolled to a 3-0 win over the islanders in their Super League match at the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) Stadium yesterday.

Selangor got their goals through Jordan’s Noor Al-Rawabdeh (29th minute), Ghana’s Richmond Boakye (59th minute) and Mohamad Faisal Abdul Halim (78th minute).

Over at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium in Cheras here, Kuala Lumpur (KL) City FC failed to capitalise on their home-ground advantage and were held to a 1-1 draw by Negri Sembilan FC.

KL City opened the scoring in the 59th minute through a Romel Morales header but Negri Sembilan equalised through Zainal Abidin Jamil in added time. – Bernama, July 16, 2023
