ANDREW and Tristan Tate have been arrested in the United States as Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) announced plans to seek their extradition to face fresh criminal charges, including rape, human trafficking and bodily harm.
The CPS said it would pursue additional charges against Andrew Tate, 39, and Tristan Tate, 38, after identifying four more alleged victims. The brothers are accused of offences in Britain said to have occurred between July 2010 and August 2017.
"We have decided to prosecute Andrew and Tristan Tate for further offences including rape, arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation and offences relating to indecent images of a child," Reuters cited Malcolm McHaffie, Head of the Special Crime Division at the CPS, saying in a statement.
The Tate brothers, who hold dual US and British citizenship, have denied all allegations of wrongdoing.
The U.S. Marshals Service did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Multiple media reports said the brothers were arrested in Miami.
The arrests represent a significant new development in the expanding legal challenges facing the brothers, who are already involved in criminal proceedings in Romania, where authorities began investigating them in December 2022.
The brothers have amassed a substantial online following through content focused on masculinity, wealth and lifestyle, with Andrew Tate previously describing himself as a misogynist.
Andrew Tate is also expected to face trial in Britain this year in a civil case brought by four women who allege they were subjected to physical and sexual abuse.
The four claimants, who have been granted anonymity, allege Tate committed acts of physical or sexual violence against them between 2013 and 2015. Two of the women said they had been in an intimate relationship with him, while the other two worked for his online webcam business.
Andrew Tate has denied the allegations. In a written defence, his lawyers said the claims were false and maintained that any sexual activity was consensual. - July 19, 2026
