SINGAPORE – No prior appointment is needed from today at the 26 vaccination centres offering the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 shot in Singapore, said the Health Ministry.
In a statement, the ministry said this is to make it more convenient for Singaporeans, permanent residents and long-term pass holders aged 12 and above who have yet to come forward for their first dose, to get the jab.
“Vaccination remains a key enabler in our fight against Covid-19. We urge all who are eligible to be vaccinated. Individuals can also continue to book appointments via www.vaccine.gov.sg.”
Since mid-July, those aged 60 and above without a vaccination appointment could walk into vaccination centres, polyclinics and participating public health preparedness clinics to get their shot.
From August 2, the republic has allowed eligible residents to walk into any of the 11 community jab sites offering the Moderna vaccine.
As of Sunday, up to 70% of the population has completed the full vaccination regimen under the national inoculation programme, while 79% has received at least one dose. – Bernama, August 10, 2021
