KUALA LUMPUR – Singapore Airlines flight SQ37 remains en route to land in Changi airport by tomorrow morning despite what appears to be a technical glitch, which alerted aviation authorities to an emergency situation on board the flight just after take-off.
According to the Daily Mail, the flight which took off from Los Angeles International Airport around midnight sent out a 7500 transponder code, which signifies a possible hijacking in progress.
The Daily Mail cited online flight tracker ADS-B Exchange for the information.
However, the situation appears to be a technical glitch or false alarm as the emergency signal is no longer being received.
The plane is also on its normal course, with an expected arrival time of 7.50am.
At the time of writing, the flight is still flying over the Pacific with another 13 hours before landing.
Additionally, checks on Singapore Airlines website and social media accounts so far revealed no update regarding the status of the said flight. – The Vibes, June 11, 2022
