Indonesia records highest daily Covid-19 infections rise

JAKARTA – Indonesia recorded 5,534 new Covid-19 cases over the past 24 hours up to noon today, the highest since the republic's outbreak was first detected on March 2.

The National Agency for Disaster Management said on Twitter that the number of positive cases so far has risen to 511,836 while number of recoveries was 429,807 and 65,438 people were under monitoring.

A total of 114 deaths was also reported over the past 24 hours up to noon today, raising the tally to 16,225.

The province of Jakarta recorded the highest number of positive cases at 130,461, following increase of 1,273 new cases, while East Java recorded the highest number of deaths at 4,249. – Bernama, November 25, 2020
