KUALA LUMPUR – Plantation think tanks will be focusing on the way forward for the palm oil industry, as well as trade development and its impact on the commodity in the upcoming Palm Oil Review and Outlook Virtual Seminar 2021.
To be held by the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) on January 11, 2021, the seminar also aims to disseminate information regarding the Malaysian oil palm industry’s performance in 2020, market prospects and price outlook for 2021.
MPOB director-general Dr Ahmad Parveez Ghulam Kadir will present a paper on the performance of the palm oil industry in 2020 and its prospects for 2021, while palm oil expert Dr James Fry of LMC International Ltd will deliver a paper on market prospects and price outlook for the palm oil.
Another industry expert, Dr Sathia Varqa will also share his thoughts on market prospects for the industry.
“The seminar will provide opportunities for participants to get the latest update on the performance of the palm oil industry, market developments and widen their network,” the MPOB said in a statement today.
Plantations Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali is expected to officiate the seminar.
The MPOB said local industry players, exporters, economists, policymakers and academicians are encouraged to participate in the seminar.
