KUALA LUMPUR – With its official launch on the horizon, home-grown broadcast network Suke TV signed a financing agreement with Malaysia Debt Ventures (MDV) earlier today.
Established in 2002 with the objective of providing flexible and innovative financing to develop technology-driven sectors of the economy, MDV is a wholly owned subsidiary of Minister of Finance Incorporated.
The signing was held at Wisma E&C in Damansara here and was attended by Suke TV chairman Datuk A.C. Mizal along with Suke TV director Datin Emylia Rosnaida.
MDV chairman Khairul Azwan Harun and MDV chief executive officer Nizam Mohammed Nadzri were also present along with the management team of both parties.
The financing agreement will see MDV providing the requisite financial support for Suke TV’s vision and mission as a local broadcast network built by Malaysians, for Malaysians.
Commenting on the partnership during the press conference held at the event, Mizal thanked the technology financier for their commitment in helping businesses such as Suke TV achieve success in technological sectors.
He added that the channel, which is set to launch early this year, will aid in promoting local businesses and brands through Suke Shop and Suke Hati, their e-commerce platform which operates via online home shopping.
“About 80% of Suke TV’s content will consist of shopping channels as we aim to increase awareness of local products while simultaneously reducing the obstacles faced by small business owners,” he said.
Sharing a similar sentiment regarding the importance of supporting local industries, Khairul stated that MDV recognises its social responsibility to ensure the wellbeing of community members.
“Seeing as how Suke TV will be creating employment opportunities for local celebrities, MDV is excited to be part of such a potential success.
“MDV is delighted to be able to set things into motion for Suke TV and we look forward to seeing more growth and success for the company,” he said to attendees of the event.
Suke TV boasts an impressive line-up of local personalities that will be joining the company as part of its ready-to-go 24/7 broadcast network.
