PETALING JAYA - The Mawar Medical Centre in Seremban recently achieved its financial breakthrough and recorded an after-tax net profit of RM2.2 million in its financial year 2023 (FY2023) which ended on March 31.
Its chairman Datuk Lee Tian Hock said the centre, previously known as Mawar Hemodialysis Centre has benefited numerous patients with kidney disease in the more than 25 years since its establishment.
"Mawar Medical Centre (MMC) is currently undertaking the work of redevelopment to ensure a sustainable future and becoming a private hospital of people's choice.
"Ending the financial losses is heartwarming for everyone in the hospital, but the greater significance is that it strengthens our future competitiveness, enhances the hospital's reputation, expands profitable investments, and creates more value while improving employee welfare," he said in a statement, today.
As of today, he said MMC has a total of 57 beds.
"We are now awaiting for the Private Medical Practice Control Section (CKAPS) under the Ministry of Health (MOH) to approve another 20 beds which will give us a total of 77 beds by the end of October 2023.
"Of course, our goals don't stop there and we will continue to seek MOH approval for another 20 beds, bringing the total to 97 beds by FY2024," he added.
Based on the current average annual revenue of a single hospital bed, once the number of hospital beds increases to 97, Lee said they predict that the hospital's revenue will double over the 24th fiscal year.
"I believe that the hospital has greater and broader room for improvement and growth. Looking ahead to the financial year 2024, we are highly optimistic and confident. We have set a revenue target of RM80 million and believe this is a realistic and achievable goal," he added.
In conjunction with the financial breakthrough achieved by the hospital, he announced that the management has decided to grant a one-time special salary increment effective from October 1, 2023, as appreciation to all staff. - The Vibes, October 8, 2023
