A SIMPLE moment at a zoo is winning over viewers online—thanks to one very content elephant.

A video shared on Facebook shows a zookeeper bathing a female elephant named Siti, who looks completely at ease as water is sprayed over her.

She appears playful and relaxed, even enjoying the attention as the zookeeper goes about the routine.

It’s a small glimpse into the daily work of zookeepers, but one that has left many impressed.

Caring for large animals like elephants is no small task, and the calm interaction in the video reflects the level of trust built over time.

Some viewers also pointed out a small detail—just beneath Siti’s trunk is a short tusk-like feature.

Female Asian elephants don’t usually have long tusks. Instead, they may develop what are known as “tushes,” which are much smaller and less useful for tasks like digging or peeling bark.

If a tush breaks, it can grow back, as long as the root remains intact, though it takes time.

For those who have taken a liking to Siti, Zoo Negara offers an animal adoption programme where the public can support her care, along with another elephant named Sibol.

It’s one way to contribute to the upkeep of these gentle giants beyond just watching them online. – May 16, 2026
