MUCH to the surprise of Malaysian audiences (again), the team behind the widely talked about Hollywood film depicting the life of Sir James Brooke kept the internet buzzing with a preview of the set through several behind-the-scenes images released recently.
A Facebook page called Zhafvlog shared more than 20 photos that included the cast in the characters courtesy of Jane Chang and Margate Films.
The stills include Jonathan Rhys Meyers ('Match Point', 'The Tudors' and 'Dracula'), Dominic Monaghan ('Lord of the Rings' and 'Lost').

Malaysian leading actors Bront Palarae and Shaheizy Sam, Wan Hanafi Su, Peter John, Atiqah Hasiholan ('Sembil9n'), Samo Rafael ('Sebelum Iblis Menjemput') & Yusuf Mahardika ('Wiro Sableng') were also seen as part of the star line-up on set.
It is made known that the film will be called ‘Edge of the World’, narrating the tale of the Englishman and the kingdom of Sarawak.
Greatly impressed with the Malay Archipelago, Brooke invested in a yacht, the 'Royalist', and a trained crew to carry out scientific research and exploration in 1839 (when he arrived in northern Borneo).

During his adventures, he met Pangeran Muda Hashim in Sarawak, to whom he assisted in crushing a rebellion, thereby winning the allegiance of the Malays and Dayaks. In 1841 Muda Hashim offered Brooke the governorship of Sarawak in return for his help.
The film will detail his life as he fights piracy and head-hunting, only to face charges of murder and piracy himself.
Information broke sometime last year on the movie and how it was rumoured to be filmed in the country. However, the news of the pandemic masked any updates after the announcement.
The film released its trailer for the UK audience last week. – The Vibes, March 25, 2021
