THE entertainment industry has started to breathe again with the relaxation of the movement control order (MCO).

Many have returned to work, including entertainment club musicians.

On that note, arts and cultural activist Eddin Khoo has created an initiative to hold the showcase WVC Jazz Ensemble ft. Eddin Khoo (After So Long). It will take place at Jao Tim tonight (October 14).

Eddin said due to the almost year-long MCO and Covid-19, his fellow musicians could not hold performances.

"The situation at that time was very difficult for everyone, and what I want to do is to reignite their spirit and return to work.

“In this showcase later, I will present a repertoire of Malay cabaret songs. We have done a lot of musical compositions for these songs where the melody is more jazz-nuanced.

“I have been learning how to sing these songs for 30 years, and there are also modern songs with jazz music arrangements that I will bring later.

"With this performance, Jao Tim's premises, which was previously unable to operate fully, will be 'energised' again," he said.
