AFTER roaring onto the political stage back in July, Kanye West garnered a total of 60,761 votes as of 2.30am, GMT+8 local time, in the race for the presidency of the United States.
According to AP, West was on the ballot across 12 states – Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah, and Vermont.
Although his vote share percentage was never more than 0.4, the rapper was the highest independent candidate to tally in votes in most of the states he was in.
West was not in on all 50 states due to his late bid in the presidency and also missing several deadlines to appear in key states, including his hometowns of Ohio and Illinois.
He has since thrown in the towel after it became evident that he was out of the race against Democratic candidate Joe Biden and Republican candidate Donald Trump, but expresses that he will return in the next presidential race with a Twitter message: “Kanye 2024”.
