WHILE taking pictures of the VIPs performing Aidilfitri prayers in Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, I saw a child on the upper floor peeking through the openings of the wooden fence. But in less than a minute, she disappeared and I missed capturing the moment. Still, I was hoping to snap her picture so I tried to get into the best position for the shot.

A few minutes later, the child reappeared and I included the Imam who was delivering the sermon in the corner of the picture, applying “the rule of thirds” composition. The wood carving decoration in the mosque also makes the picture more interesting and seems to be divided into two parts.

When I took this picture, I imagined that the child was trying to understand the true meaning of the Hari Raya festival. Seeing the presence of many Muslims in the mosque after two years of not being able to congregate due to Covid-19 might be a new experience for her. – The Vibes, May 8, 2022
