THIS year’s Malaysian Film Festival Awards (FFM32) saw 55 entries which include feature films, digital features, short films, and international films in the running.

Spilt Gravy film directed by Datuk Zahim Albakri has dominated the list of nominations for the FFM32.

The film bagged 14 nominations in the main categories for Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Original Narrative, Leading Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Actress.

While Air Force The Movie: Selagi Bernyawa also loomed with 13 nominations followed by the film Juang with 10 nominations.

Meanwhile, Finas chief executive officer Professor Dr Md Nasir Ibrahim described the film entries this year as better than the last.

"There is no specific report for us to compare the quality of last year and this year.

"However, in general, the films selected this year look better than the previous year based on the numbers of views and the positive feedback from the audiences," he said.

Themed 'Film Kita, Citra Kita', this year's edition of FFM32 is in line with the branding of local film productions with local values to create impact for domestic and international entries.

This year saw 55 entries which included feature films, digital features, short films, and international films.

The awards night will be held at Encore, Melaka on December 2. – The Vibes, November 26, 2022
