AS expected by awards watchers, Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh has been nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Motion Picture for her performance in the critically acclaimed 'Everything Everywhere All At Once'.

This is her first time being nominated for the award.

Recently named Time Magazine's Icon of the Year 2022, Yeoh is a favourite to be nominated for an Academy Award early next year. The science fiction multiverse spectacle is not generally the type of movie that is rewarded at these events, which speaks to the strength of her performance.

Other nominess in the category are Lesley Manville (Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris), Anya Taylor-Joy (The Menu), Emma Thompson (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande) and Margot Robbie (Babylon).

Nominations were announced yesterday (December 12).

'Everything Everywhere All At Once' also received five other nominations, including nods for Ke Huy Quan, in a big comeback role, and Jamie Lee Curtis.

The most nominated film is Martin McDonagh's 'The Banshees of Inisherin' with eight nominations, including nods for actors Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Kerry Condon and Barry Keoghan.

The nominees for best film, comedy or musical, which 'Everything Everywhere All At Once' is competing with are 'The Banshees of Inisherin', 'Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery', 'Babylon' and 'Triangle Of Sadness'.

The Golden Globes will be broadcast on January 11 and will be hosted by stand-up comedian Jerrod Carmichael. – The Vibes, December 13, 2022
