COLDPLAY sure is hot stuff. Pre-sale tickets for the Brit rock band broke records not only for being quickly sold out but because 400,000 fans lined up online to grab them.

This has never happened in GoLive Asia’s history of organising international concerts.

“Dear fans, we want to thank you for your support. The CIMB Presale for Coldplay: Music Of The Spheres World Tour – delivered by DHL has been sold out.

“Demand for Coldplay: Music Of The Spheres World Tour – delivered by DHL show at National Stadium Bukit Jail was off the Chartsand was one of the most immense presale we have ever bed,” GoLive said in a statement.

But the concert organiser refutes the many allegations that its website crashed.

“There was a record-breaking 400,000 fans in our virtual queue, which is the biggest in GoLive Asia's history.

“We want to be clear that the Golive Asia ticketing app and website did not in fact crash. However, due to the overwhelming load, we had to ensure traffic flow was steadily managed on our platforms.

“After resolving this issue, purchases were made and customers had secured their ticket,” read its statement.

The allegations arose when many diehard fans voiced their frustrations after repeatedly failing to access the website to procure Coldplay pre-sale tickets for CIMB Bank cardholders which went up for sale at 10am.

The website also displayed the error message: ‘error: Rate exceeded’ which appears after users try to press the ‘Ticket’ button.

Nevertheless, fans who have followed the band since the 90s with hits like ‘Yellow’, ‘Clocks’, ‘Fix You’, ‘The Scientist’ and ‘Vida La Vida’ can still get tickets for the show which goes on sale today.

“We would like to congratulate all those managed to obtain tickets for the show, and for those who did not, worry not, the general sale is happening tomorrow and you still have a chance to get tickets,” wrote GoLive Asia.

Go-Live also said that the pre-queue began at 9am today, followed by the sale at 10am. – The Vibes, May 17, 2023
