BOARD Director of the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) Datuk Sri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim, has been appointed as an Adjunct Professor at the National University of Malaysia’s (UKM) Faculty of Education.
Marking a significant milestone for both the university and Dr Irmohizam, his two-year tenure runs from 18 April 2025 to 17 April 2027.
Dr Irmohizam, who is also the Group Managing Director of the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) and an alumnus of UKM’s Faculty of Education, at which he earned a PhD in Adult and Professional Development, as well as a Master of Law from its Faculty of Law.
The appointment letter was presented by Professor Dr Mohd Mahzan Awang, Dean of the Faculty of Education, during a ceremony witnessed by UKM’s Pro Vice-Chancellor for Strategy and Corporate Development, Professor Dato’ Dr Roslee Rajikan.
Also appointed as Adjunct Professors were Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman, President of MUBARAK Malaysia, and Dato' Dr Ahmad Masrizal Muhammad, former Deputy Minister of Higher Education.
Dr Irmohizam’s involvement is expected to boost the faculty’s international collaborations, particularly in educational and business events sectors, capitalising on his role within the WTCA.
“Industry on Campus initiatives, lifelong learning programmes and strategic collaborations will be taken to a global level,” said UKM in a statement, emphasising the opportunities his appointment will bring.
“I am committed to giving my very best in fulfilling this role, particularly in industrial-driven education and fostering collaborations with strategic partners to enhance the faculty’s good name,” said Dr Irmohizam.
“I am a great advocate of the education field and will ensure that my knowledge and experience are shared meaningfully with the UKM community.”
WTCKL extended its congratulations, describing the appointment as a prestigious recognition of Dr Irmohizam’s contribution to both education and international industry engagement. – April 18, 2025
