THE Ministry of Education (MOE) has established the Educational Institution Security Reform Committee to strengthen security aspects in all institutions under its management.
The first meeting of the committee was held yesterday, following the announcement of additional security measures made by the MOE recently.
In a statement, the MOE said that the committee's role is to address emerging security issues and devise the best solutions to ensure the well-being of students, teachers and all members of educational institutions.
"In the first meeting, the committee set a direction and a comprehensive action plan to be implemented in stages," read the statement.
The committee's membership involves various parties, including academics, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), experts in various fields, the Royal Malaysian Police and representatives of Parent, Community and Private Involvement (PIBKS).
The MOE stressed in the statement that it is working to ensure that security aspects in all educational institutions are strengthened. – August 16, 2025
