WORLD Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) Managing Director Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim has been appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin (UniSIRAJ) for a two-year term, effective from 1 January.

The appointment was formally approved and conferred by the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, who serves as the Chairman of the Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs), during a joint Iftar ceremony for council members and committee representatives.

The investiture was also witnessed by Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil.

Expressing his gratitude, Dr Irmohizam said he was honoured by the appointment and pledged to carry out his responsibilities with full commitment.

“This responsibility I will carry out with full dedication to strengthen governance, sustainability, and strategic planning at UniSIRAJ. My aim is to help drive UniSIRAJ as a progressive institution that connects education, industry, and community development,” he said, emphasising his intent to support UniSIRAJ as a forward-looking institution linking education, industry, and societal advancement.

UniSIRAJ, governed under MAIPs, plays a crucial role in promoting Islamic education and institutional excellence in Perlis.

WTCKL noted that Dr Irmohizam’s extensive experience in corporate leadership, governance, and the international business events industry is expected to enhance strategic collaboration between the education sector and industry, including the organisation of knowledge forums, business conferences, and dialogues on Islamic economics and finance.

“WTCKL believes this appointment will open more opportunities for organising high-impact events and cross-sector collaborations that contribute to the nation’s socio-economic development,” the organisation added. - February 26, 2026
