ARAU – The construction of Universiti Kuala Lumpur Asia Sustainable Transportation Institute (UniKL-Asti) in Padang Besar is expected to commence next year, said Perlis Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man.

Everything is progressing as scheduled, he said.

“We have just concluded the land acquisition for the university, which will sit on a 60ha area, and are now finalising the payment for the purchase. We expect to finalise this soon,” he told reporters after launching the Mara Prihatin Jalinan Kasih Bersama Komuniti programme at SMK Sanglang Hall here today.

Azlan also said that the state government had received the ceiling allocation for the project under the 11th and 12th Malaysia Plans, totalling RM196 million.

He said they need at least two years just to complete the construction of the building

“Therefore, I cannot give the exact time when the construction of UniKL will be completed because it would depend on the situation,” he added. – Bernama, September 23, 2022
