KUALA LUMPUR – Twenty-six Covid-19 victims were laid to rest at the Section 21 Muslim cemetery in Shah Alam yesterday, the burial ground’s highest-ever daily figure.

Malaysia has lost 6,728 lives to the coronavirus since the pandemic began, with Selangor alone accounting for 2,264.

Dozens of hearses arrived at the Section 21 Muslim cemetery throughout the day yesterday.

The cries of victims’ loved ones were heard from a distance, as the standard operating procedures do not permit them to enter the cemetery.

It is understood that most of the bodies came from Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang.
