PERODUA Bezza owners can stand tall - now that Malaysias' favourite budget sedan is the official choice of the Papua New Guinea (PNG) police as their patrol car.
Several photos that went viral on social media today show a line of Perodua Bezza cars complete with police stickers and sirens on the roof, used by the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC).

The pictures immediately sparked heated discussions among local netizens who were excited to see the car penetrate the foreign market in the most unexpected form as the official patrol car of another country's police force.
“From Grab to patrol car, this Bezza is truly versatile!” wrote a user on X while sharing a photo of the vehicle.
It is understood that the Bezza model used by the PNG police is the export version of Perodua for markets outside Southeast Asia, believed to have been chosen due to its fuel economy, high durability and low maintenance costs.

At the same time, many consider the move as a form of unofficial recognition of Malaysian automotive engineering, with some even suggesting that the Malaysian government give special recognition to Perodua for the “success of Bezza diplomacy”.
"Weh proud! Even foreign countries trust our products. From now on, if you see a Bezza parked on the side of the road, show a little respect, maybe it's a PNG police car," wrote another social media user. – November 5, 2025
