THE 2006 Maxim Cup & Maxim Elite Series is expected to attract 18,000 participants from around the world, representing 1,500 teams.

The tournament, organised by Maxim Events in collaboration with Subway Malaysia, will be held at five locations nationwide.

Taking place in Penang, Langkawi, Melaka and Johor, as well as the capital, it is an event designed specifically to feature male and female participants from the Under 6 to Under 20 age categories.

Maxim Events Director, Will Kucia, said they are very honoured and excited to continue the tournament, with Subway as the main sponsor.

“Last year, through this partnership, we increased participation in the tournament through sponsored teams, provided healthy food for participants and staff, and improved the quality of the tournament by installing metal fencing around the field.

“We look forward to 2026 to launch a new tournament in Melaka while continuing to expand our existing events,” he said.

Subway Malaysia CEO Kon said the partnership sees the leading international brand play an active role in developing youth football in Malaysia.

Providing support for selected teams in the form of sponsorship of team fees and kits, the partnership, he explained, helps make competitive football more accessible to young players from all backgrounds.

“This support reflects Subway’s commitment to promoting an active lifestyle, fostering a sense of community, and inspiring the next generation to pursue their sporting ambitions.

“As a brand built on fresh ingredients and a sense of community, we are proud to partner with Maxim Events to inspire the next generation of athletes,” he said.

Kon said that the provision of food and team kits is believed to be able to help players perform at their best, while also reinforcing Subway's commitment to a healthy and active lifestyle.

Maxim Cup KL - 2 & 3 May
