GOOGLE appears to have inadvertently posted a first image of its upcoming Pixel Buds A-Series earbuds on Twitter. These wireless headphones could be officially unveiled at the Google I/O conference, running May 18 to 20, 2021 and entirely virtually, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

In a tweet that was swiftly deleted, Google prematurely unveiled its new Pixel Buds A-Series earbuds. But was it a genuine accident or an intentional slip to stir up a buzz? Either way, it's likely that the firm's next-generation of wireless headphones will be officially presented at the forthcoming Google I/O developers' conference.

For the time being, we know that this new product will be compatible with Google's Fast Pair connection system for easily linking wireless devices with a smartphone. Moreover, these earbuds are expected to land in a selection of colors. However, none of the products' technical specifications appear to have leaked.

As AirPods prove a hit in the headphones market, this new generation of Pixel Buds could offer a decent alternative to Apple's earbuds, provided that they're more affordable. Google's current Pixel Buds are priced at $179/€199. The upcoming Pixel Buds A-Series will need to land with a more competitive price tag if they hope to compete with Apple's offering. – ETX Studio, May 6, 2021
