KAM Productions and Joanne Kam present Kamthology, a fully-vaccinated comedy variety showcase this October 29 and 30 at the Petaling Jaya Performing Arts Centre (PJPAC), located near 1 Utama shopping centre.
Kamthology will be their newest, and most adventurous comedy variety showcase yet. There will be parody songs, games, and lots and lots of jokes – while following SOPs of course.
For two nights only, witness Malaysia's queen of comedy and a dazzling array of comedians – namely Kavin Jay, Papi Zak, the diva queen Bibi K Poh, and the God of Parody himself, Steven Bones – attempt to heal the nation through comedy. The show will be hosted by Terry Ong.

The comedians
Malaysia's queen of comedy Joanne Kam Poh Poh is armed with a distinct style of acid tongue humour with risqué material that covers everything from sexual misadventure to awkward encounters with rock climbing walls. With close to 30 years of experience, Joanne commands the stage with “the moxie of someone who’s eternally skulling Red Bulls”.
Kavin Jay is a rapid-fire, grumpy, joke telling machine. In 2018, his Netflix special Everybody Calm Down was released and subsequently landed in the top 10 of both The Wrap and IndieWire's list of best Netflix specials of the year.
Firmly established as one of golden boys of Malaysian comedy, Papi Zak just happens to be the biggest comedian in the country. Writing and performing for over 12 years, he brings a quirky brand of humour that touches audiences of all ages. Zak was the host of The Halal Foodie and is currently brand ambassador for Mr Potato.
Bibi Kay Poh is Malaysia’s beloved comedy diva with a career spanning over two decades. Her style of comedy ranges from zany to suggestive, while her grasp of seven languages and her melodic voice makes her an all-round entertainer that stuns audiences.
Steven Bones is a voice-actor, voice-gymnasts, and Malaysia's king of parody. He earned his viral chops with the legendary Mamak King before dubbing Disney's Mulan trailer into the favourite, Si Milan.
Hosting the show is Terry Ong, a motor-mouthed wise-cracking personality with 18 years experience as a radio announcer on Red FM and Mix FM.
Speaking on the the reasoning behind the show, Joanne Kam said, "With the lockdown affecting live events and especially entertainers, live shows have taken a hiatus for almost two years. Even though we manage to produce a few online comedy shows with audiences ranging from 80-120 paxs, nothing will replace the feeling of watching a live show or performing to a live audience.
"This show came about through comradery to heal not only us but Malaysia as well. Laughter is addictive and can for that short few hours let you laugh your worries away with us."
What can the audience expect after a year of lockdown?
"This is a combination show that not only involves stand up comedy but parody songs, a game show and even dance. The whole show is like a pocket full of surprise and you will be able to see your favourite comedian perform things you will only get to see here on Kamthology. There will also be new jokes on our lockdown experiences as well."
