‘Bat Out of Hell’ singer Meat Loaf dies at 74

WASHINGTON – US singer and actor Meat Loaf, famous for his 'Bat Out of Hell' album, has died aged 74, according to a statement on Friday.

"Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight with his wife Deborah by his side," the statement on his Facebook page said.

"Daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends have been with him throughout the last 24 hours."

According to the BBC, the performer, born Michael Lee Aday, sold 100 million albums worldwide – 'Bat Out of Hell' is one of the top 10 sellers of all time – and appeared in movies such as 'Fight Club', 'Focus', 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' and 'Wayne's World'. – Agencies
