FORMER prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today failed in his bid to have his passport permanently returned to him.

Kuala Lumpur sessions court judge Azura Alwi dismissed Muhyiddin’s application for his passport to be permanently returned, calling it premature.

Instead, the court agreed to release his passport back to him for a temporary period from today until January 15 next year.

Muhyiddin had sought his passport for a family holiday in London and a medical check-up in Singapore at the end of the year.

The Bersatu president said the vacation was important because it would allow him to spend time with his family following a stressful year.

He said he will be in London from December 21 until January 10 next year.

On October 4, the Pagoh MP filed an application to strike out his remaining three money laundering charges linked to the Jana Wibawa scandal.

The court set February 15 next year to hear this bid. – The Vibes, November 29, 2023
