A CAR driver had a narrow escape when a traffic light fell on his vehicle during a downpour in front of Menara U in Section 13, Shah Alam, Selangor.

The incident occurred at about 4.05pm on Saturday and was recorded by the dashcam of the car behind.

The recording showed a set of lights beginning to fall on the car, narrowly missing a nearby motorcyclist.

Twitter user Syz, who captured the incident on her dashcam, apologised for not getting out to help as it was raining heavily at the time.

Syz wrote, “I am uploading this video and hope this can serve as proof if necessary.”

Twitter user Rishnu (@RishnuVasanth) identified himself as the victim in the video and thanked Syz.

He wrote, “Thank you Sir, all is going well. Thank you again.”

The incident has since sparked a social media debate on what a person should do in such a case and who would be held responsible. – The Vibes, December 11, 2023.
