ALL lawmakers must go for a mandatory health screening by November 11 or have their names published on the parliament website, Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul said.

“This medical screening is compulsory for all MPs and the last date is Monday, November 11,” he said at the start of today’s sitting.

Johari said details for the health screening were sent in a recent letter to the MPs. They may also get further information from the Parliament health clinic.

The speaker told members they would be allowed to do the health screening at the Parliament clinic or at any private facility.’

“It will help a lot in assessing the health status of MPs and allow immediate preventive steps to be taken.

“The Health Ministry agreed to conduct the screenings and without exception, all MPs were given the health screening letter,” he told the chamber. – July 17, 2024.
