FORMER Director-General of Health Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah has denied viral allegations on social media linking the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to various side effects, including death.
He stated that a death occurring after a person receives the vaccine cannot automatically be attributed to the vaccine itself.
Instead, the actual cause of death must be determined through investigation and medical assessment, including a post-mortem examination in certain cases.
"The fact is, vaccines save millions of lives. Before vaccines were developed, many people died every day across the globe," he said when contacted by Astro AWANI.
Meanwhile, Noor Hisham stated that the public should not give credence to those spreading inaccurate information that causes confusion within the community.
"Entertaining or paying attention to those who spread such baseless information is merely a waste of time," he said.
He urged the public not to be easily swayed by viral information without consulting authentic sources and medical evidence. – September 29, 2026
