THE comments by Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) president Datuk Larry Sng that Sarawak Pakatan Harapan (PH) parties should stay away from the coming state elections and join Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) instead have sparked off a war of words with the state’s Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).

Sarawak PKR information chief Tay Wei Wei today slammed Sng for trying to stir up controversy.

“We in Sarawak PKR and Sarawak PH are not political frogs. Larry Sng should focus on how to build up his own party.

“PBM only has one parliamentary seat.

“He should stop trying to gain publicity by mocking other parties,” he said in a statement.

Tay said Sng, the Julau MP, had insinuated on social media that Sarawak PKR and Sarawak DAP were irrelevant in Sarawak and could not defeat GPS.

Tay said Sng had suggested that Sarawak PH join GPS instead.

“Sarawak PKR and Sarawak DAP had won state and parliamentary seats in Sarawak before.

“We will continue to play our role in Sarawak as the voice for the rakyat,” he said.

The next Sarawak elections will be in 2026. – July 26, 2024.
