A FOREIGNER who went around breaking the rear windshield wipers of several cars parked at the Batu Pahat bus terminal has been arrested.

A 16-second video of the incident has since gone viral on social media, showing the 25-year-old man breaking the rear wipers of cars for no reason.

Batu Pahat police chief Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said the suspect was apprehended the same day his actions went viral on social media.

"Police from the Motorcycle Patrol Unit successfully arrested the suspect on the same day for further investigation.

"Police also found a penknife in the suspect's backpack," he said.

Shahrulanuar said three investigation papers have been opened under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief, as well as Section 6(1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Dangerous Weapons Act 1958.

An investigation is also underway under Section 6(1) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for residing in the country without valid documents. - October 21, 2024
