A FEMALE e-hailing driver encountered a terrifying experience when her car skidded and landed in a lake near the Mines Shopping Centre, in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

Serdang Police Chief, AA Anbalagan, said the incident occurred near The Heritage Residence apartment at around 3.30 pm and involved only the driver.

"At the time of the incident, the victim was driving a Toyota Vios on her way to pick up a passenger at Aestetica Residence in Seri Kembangan in the heavy rain.

"While passing the location of the incident, the victim claimed that the car skidded when it hit a puddle and ended up in the lake," he said.

Fortunately, the 49-year-old woman managed to get out through the driver's side window before the car completely sank.

He said that shortly afterwards the victim was rescued by a boat.

The victim later shared in another video that her car was also fished out of the lake. - November 17, 2024
