TWO teachers at Sekolah Kebangsaan Batu Danau in Limbang district in northern Sarawak escaped unharmed as fire engulfed their wooden housing quarters this morning.

The fire broke out at about 7.30 am at the primary school located some 34 kms from Limbang town.

Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said there were two teachers inside when the fire engulfed the building.

"Our Limbang Bomba unit rushed to the school after receiving an emergency alert.

"There were two teachers inside at the time of the fire and both managed to escape unharmed," the department said in a statement.

The quarters were razed.

The cause of the fire is being probed and all the affected teachers are now being housed in temporary shelters while awaiting assistance. - November 21, 2024
