IT is little kind gestures like these that make Malaysia beautiful.

A recent TikTok video posted by a local bakery has left netizens teary-eyed.

In the video posted by @sundaydo.hq, an aunty is seen entering the bakery in Kuala Lumpur to purchase a piece of cake.

The staff at the bakery later learnt that the aunty was buying the cake for herself and that it was her birthday.

The staff attending to the aunty decided to let her have the cake for free since it was her birthday.

The aunty, however, insisted that she pay for the cake, but the staff refused to accept her money.

The staff then noticed the aunty lighting up and blowing out a candle alone in the bakery.

“The aunty then said she was stepping out for a while and would be back shortly”.

She went to the shop next door to get some biscuits for the kind bakery staff who refused to accept any payment for the cake.

“While the aunty was out, the staff got together and decided to surprise her when she got back”.

The aunty did not expect the surprise and was overwhelmed and moved to tears when the staff gathered around and began singing 'Happy Birthday' to her.

“While we were singing to the auntie, we couldn’t help but get teary-eyed. Some of the staff even started to cry. The auntie’s tears of joy reminded us all of why we do what we do.” - December 5, 2024
