DATUK Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal once again hinted that Warisan will likely run ‘solo’ in the upcoming Sabah election.
He said the party has yet to decide on any alliances despite ongoing speculations of a tie-up with other parties.
“What matters most is uniting the people of Sabah,” he said in Batu Sapi.
Warisan, he added, is focused on tackling Sabah’s water shortages, electricity supply, healthcare, and education issues.
“There is no point in political unity if these fundamental problems persist,” he said.
Shafie’s call to “unite the people” signals Warisan’s focus on grassroots support while keeping post-election ties open.
He has repeatedly said Warisan will only work with parties that share its vision for Sabah while urging Sabahans to revive the spirit of unity of past leaders in the formative years of Malaysia in the 60s.
“They had high hopes then, but today, they still see gaps that need to be addressed,” he said.
During his visit, he assured flood-hit villagers that aid efforts would continue and visited residents in Kampung Lupak Meluas Laut.
