SATOK state assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki was appointed Sarawak Deputy Minister for Utility (in charge of Sarawak Energy Bhd and Petroleum Sarawak Bhd).

He was sworn in before Sarawak Governor Tun Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaffar at the Istana Negeri today.

He will take up his post today, said the Premier Office in a press statement.

Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, who is the Pantai Damai assemblyman and former Deputy Minister for Utility and Telecommunication, has taken on a new role.

He was appointed Deputy Minister in the Premier Office (in charge of monitoring regional development, Kuching city north and state Islamic Affairs).

"The new appointments and minor Cabinet reshuffle will strengthen administration, enhance the developments in the energy sectors and boost the oil and gas industries," the statement said.

Ibrahim recently won a vice-president post in the Parti Pesaka Bumiputra Bersatu Sarawak party elections. – March 17, 2025
