A WOMAN received five stitches on her head after being injured by a bicycle thrown from the 12th floor of the Padang Hiliran People's Housing Program (PPR) in Kuala Terengganu, yesterday.
According to reports in Berita Harian, the incident occurred when Azuraini Yazid, 43, who is also an assistant at Tabika Kemas in Pasir Panjang, was on her way to dispose the trash, around 4 pm.
The victim's husband, Jusri Ibrahim, 48, said his wife suddenly fell and lost consciousness with her head bleeding after she was suddenly hit by the bicycle.
Jusri, who is also a driver at the Kuala Terengganu City Council (MBKT), said his wife was unconscious and was given emergency treatment by a medical team from the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ).
"My wife was then rushed to the HSNZ emergency unit where she received five stitches to her head, and her condition is now stable," he said, adding that he also lodged a police report.
Jusri added that he had already met with the owner of the bicycle, but the person claimed that the bicycle belonged to his child.
The owner claimed that the bicycle was kept outside the house and was thrown by someone else.
Meanwhile, Kuala Terengganu Police Chief, Azli Mohd Noor, confirmed that police recorded the statement of a resident who claimed the bicycle belonged to him, but was not involved in throwing it from the 12th floor.
"So far, the investigation is still ongoing and the victim's condition has been reported as stable and allowed to return home early this morning," he said. – March 26, 2025
