PENANG Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow has put a stop to the leadership uncertainty in the Penang Hindu Endowment Board (PHEB).
He said in a statement that the present commissioners line up would be maintained until their term expires in July.
Chow said that there was no discussion about the future of PHEB in the weekly state executive councillors' meeting.
The uncertainty surfaced when Deputy Chief Minister II Jagdeep Singh Deo had openly expressed his willingness to lead the statutory body despite him being a Sikh.
The present PHEB chairman is Jelutong MP RSN Rayer, who unfortunately has his position under scrutiny because of some policies said to have ruffled the feathers of some quarters.
Rayer made a transparent move by inviting the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to probe PHEB for alleged irregularities.
Some quarters were unhappy, and they held a protest against him.
