PKR Women’s Wing Chief Fadhlina Sidek has revealed her intention to contest the leadership of the party’s Nibong Tebal division.

This decision comes as a reflection of her gratitude and deep sense of responsibility to the party’s members, the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition, and the people of Nibong Tebal, who have supported her political journey over the years.

Fadhlina, who is also the Nibong Tebal Member of Parliament shared, in a post on her official Facebook page, said: “My colleagues and I are committing our hearts and energy. Our team, with the strength of diversity and the spirit of the PKR extended family, must embrace every strength we have, leading the commitment to strengthening the party through unity in diversity.”

Fadhlina, who also holds the position of Minister of Education, expressed a strong desire to lead the PKR division in Nibong Tebal, a constituency that has been supported by committed party members since its formation.

She is now seeking the mandate of local division members to allow her to take on the role of division head.

She also took the opportunity to acknowledge the unwavering support of Nibong Tebal’s PKR members, particularly highlighting the contributions of the party’s reformist "otai" faction and the women’s wing.

"I appreciate the members who have jointly supported the agenda of strengthening the party, the reformist 'otai' and the women's wing of the division, enabling me to be in the position I am today,” she added.

PKR has announced that elections for its Central Leadership Council (CLC), Women’s Central Leadership, and Youth Wing will take place on May 24.

Meanwhile, the leadership elections for the division, women’s division, and youth wing at the local level will be held between April 11 and April 20. – April 6, 2025
