PKR Secretary-General Dr Fuziah Salleh confirmed that she would not contest any position in the coming party election.

She said that the decision was made at the request of PKR President, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who wanted her to give full attention to management work in the party.

"I have not contested at the branch level for two terms, and I handed over the position of branch head since 2018 to the current incumbent.

"At the national level, I was asked by the President to focus on party work, managing this party requires focus. So, I will not contest," she said.

On the PKR 2025 election process, Fuziah said it was conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner and was different from the tense atmosphere in past elections.

"If outsiders look at it, the past PKR elections were indeed full of incidents, including chair-throwing and so on. But thank God, this time it was really calm, and everything went smoothly as we fully used the e-voting system, except for those who are 60 years old and above, do not have smartphones, or have internet coverage issues," she said.

Fuziah informed that blockchain technology was used and so far, there have been no complaints related to hacking attempts.

"This technology is a safe and secure system with each voter's ID encrypted, and their votes are also encrypted."

"This means it cannot be breached and so far, there have been no complaints (received) regarding attempts to breach (election) data," he said.

Fuziah also mentioned that there were appeals and objections from a small number who were dissatisfied with the election results.

She said, this is a common occurrence in the world of politics.

"Sometimes those who compete cannot accept defeat … they feel they should win, that's why they protest.

"So, we will open it up, the PKR Election Committee (JPP) will review every complaint, and the Central Leadership Council (MPP) is also transparent in listening to all objections and complaints raised," she added. – April 16, 2025
